Neither Fear nor Compromise

My parents and I spent yesterday listening to Doug Phillips' CD set entitled Biblical Principals at the Ballot Box. To say that this message was thought-provoking is an understatement. I found it to be convicting, inspiring and relieving. I haven't had time to sit down and really work out all of the thoughts that this message inspired, but I would like to share with you a few of my notes.
  • The greatest evil for America would not be for Hillary Clinton to win the White House, but for the Church to lose it conscience.
  • God does not require us to vote for the perfect candidate, only the for the one that is qualified.
  • The Bible is not silent on the issue of choosing civil leaders.
  • As Christians, we are to represent Christ's interests, not our own, in the voting booth.
  • We must endorse and vote for only those who meet the qualifications for leading set forth in the Bible
  • It is better to not vote at all than to vote against Biblical standards.
  • It is more important to honor God than to win elections.
I have a lot more research to do, and I look forward to exploring this issue even more. In the meantime, check out these articles by William Einwechter on the same subject.

2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
